Cyprus developer research: press news now in 38 dossiers

Published: Data as of:

This week the database gained no new companies or projects: there are still 134 researched profiles and 764 project records. The main change is that every dossier where the press has written about the company now has a "News about the developer" section: 153 articles about 38 developers, from project launches and awards to court cases and disputes with the state.

A news item in a dossier summarises what the outlet reported, with a link to the article. It is not our assessment of the company; press releases and sponsored pieces are marked separately (55 of 153).

Counts come from two saved database snapshots. Only news items checked against the article text are counted, because only those are shown on the site. Sponsored items are those the outlet itself marks as a press release or sponsored content.

The "News about the developer" section

The section sits in the dossier just before the project list and is linked from the "On this page" menu. Each item gives the publication date, one or two sentences on what the outlet reports, and a link to the article under its original headline. The most covered companies are bbf: (13 items), Aristo Developers and Cyfield Group (11 each), INEX Group (10), and Leptos Estates and Kition Ocean Holding (9 each).

How each news item is checked

Every item was checked against the text of the article itself: the date against the dateline, facts and figures against the text, with nothing added. Reports of court cases and investigations are attributed to the outlet and give the stage of the case that the article states (charges, acquittal, appeal). If an article cannot be opened, the item is not published. Where the outlet marks a piece as a press release or sponsored content, the item carries a "Sponsored" label: these are the company's own words, not the newsroom's reporting.

Other changes in the dossiers

The "At a glance" block at the top of each dossier now answers the main questions directly: which legal entities stand behind the brand, where the documented projects are, who manages the company and what is known about its owners, each with its first source. For 34 developers, the directors and secretary from the registry now have their own field: free Cyprus registry mirrors show only them, while shareholders are available only in a paid report, so a registry director is not necessarily an owner. The developer list can now be searched by brand name, legal entity and other source-backed company names.

Re-checking projects already in the database

Monitoring re-checked 50 projects at 30 developers whose stated delivery date has passed, and separately the ten developers with the most material on the site. Twenty-nine press and property-portal publications were added as sources to the matching projects.

How to use this research before choosing a property

Start with the exact project and the legal entity named in your contract. Follow the dossier's sources, compare the company names and ask which documents apply to your unit. A news report describes what an outlet published on a given date; check whether anything has changed since. Missing public information remains an evidence gap, not proof of good or poor performance.

Scope of this edition

The window is 26–30 October 2026, Cyprus time, following directly on from the previous edition's closing snapshot. The news items describe publications from 2013 to October 2026: adding one to the database this week does not mean the event happened this week. This is a selected review of our research, not a complete news digest or an assessment of all Cyprus developers.
